  • Nice hotel with small but cozy standard room (good wi-fi, bottle of water, kettle with tea and coffee), next to the Mahkota Parade shopping center. The Explorer is located walking distance to the most attractions and has easy access from Bus Station (bus #17).

  • We booked 6 rooms for 14 pax including 2 toddlers. For connecting rooms we were given queen bedded on the 4th floor. Twin rooms are on the third floor are not connected and the wifi is too weak for surfing and also noisy. The wifi on the 4th floor is ok for surfing but not for YouTube.

For weekend, breakfast is buffet. There were nuggets, scramble eggs, ham, porridge, bread, noodle and fried rice. And the usual coffee, tea and juice.

The plus point for this hotel is that it just next to the all major shopping centres.

The rooms are small but clean. 2 Bottled water are provided with coffee and tea making facility. The parking at the hotel is quite safe as there are security guards. We had difficulty finding the entrance to the car park on the first day. Upon finding the hotel just next to mahkota car park, we needed to drive round the mahkota mall to the other side of the road to reach the hotel car park.

We would stay again should we be in Malacca.

Room Tip: Rooms are better on the 4th floor as its quieter and the wifi is stronger.

  • A great value for money! Overall it was an excellent for me, the concept of the hotel is just like Tune Hotel but it's cheaper therefore don't expect much from the staff. Parking here is free so it's good for locals who drove to melacca. The shopping mall is just next door so getting food wasn't a problem. It was a really convenient place to stay.
